Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant (UUAZ) has started the assembly of the civil helicopters Mi-171 for Iraq under the contract signed in 2007. The cost of the contract has not been disclosed. However, the cost of the contract for 22 jets is estimated at USD176 million. The deliveries to Iraq are provided via the agency in the United Arab Emirates with which UUAZ is going to establish a network of Mil helicopter service centers in the Middle East.
