Russian Railways Ships 7.4 Million Tons of Cargo for Olympic Projects in Sochi

Russian Railways shipped 7.493 million tons of cargo for the needs of the Olympic facilities in Sochi in January-October 2009, including construction cargo – 6.428 million tons, cement – 669 000 tons, oil – 224 000 tons, timber – 43 000 tons, ferrous metals – 130 000 tons. The cargo was shipped to the largest stations of the Black Sea coast including Adler, Veseloye, Sochi, Lazarevskaya. Shipment to Adler totaled 2.320 million tons in the ten-month period of 2009, Veseloye – 2.874 million tons, Sochi – 2.128 million tons, Lazarevskoye – 172 000 tons.
