RailTransAuto, RTA (a joint venture between TransGroup AS and RZD) started to handle Mazda cars in its customs terminal imported from Japan to Russia. Since October 2008 RTA has been providing regular transportation of Mazda automobiles to the terminal “Mikhnevo” in the Moscow Region by rail from its own terminal “Zarubino” in the Trinity Bay where they are shipped by ferry from Japan. Now, Mazda Motor Russ LLC has tested the logistics scheme via the customs warehouse at the terminal “Mikhnevo”. Launched in September 2009 the customs terminal in Mikhnevo enables the company to store automobiles without custom duties and taxes during three years.
